In loving memory of Mark Bryant.
February 9, 1972 - May 13, 2024
Mark earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry and dedicated his career to his work at American Silica, Crane Composites, and as a respected Chemistry and Physical Science instructor at Arkansas State University. Despite his professional success, his job was impacted by COVID-19.
Mark a beloved father, educator, brother, and friend, is leaving behind his three children: Ashton, Nicholas, and Noah. The sudden loss of Mark has left his children in immediate need of financial stability and support as they navigate life without their loving dad.
Mark was a kind soul who helped many people throughout his life. Our family will never be the same without him, and neither will anyone who had the pleasure of knowing or working with him. We ask that you continue to pray for Mark's family during this difficult time.
An entire family and community is heartbroken and devastated.
Our GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $15,740 (167,000 kr) to help cover immediate expenses and provide Mark's children with some security as they move forward over the next three months.
It's a harsh reality, isn't it? Losing someone dear makes us realize the value of what we had.
Love alone cannot bring them back. We must actively cherish and choose our relationships. I feel a deep pain inside me, but I will find strength in my memories of you. No amount of grief can replace your presence. But I will hold onto the beauty of our time together. I guess it goes to show, does it not? That we've no idea what we've got until we lose it. And no amount of love will keep it around If we don't choose it. I will strive to live my life in a way that would make you proud. I will honor your memory by being kind, compassionate, and strong. Though you may no longer be by my side, your spirit will always guide and inspire me.
Rest in peace, dad You will forever hold a special place in my heart.
In loving memory of Mark (Dad), our guiding light,
His love for us shone ever bright.
With every word of poetry he spoke,
His love for us, it never broke.
Though he's no longer by our side,
In spirit, he will always abide.
With every memory, and every thought,
In hearts, he'll never be forgot.
We'll carry on with him in mind,
his love and wisdom, we will find.
In every moment, in every day,
he will forever stay:
Rest in peace, dear father, in eternal light,
Forever loved, forever in our sight.
We love you forever, dad.
Nick and Noah
We will remember everything about you, dad. We will honor you, and try our best to do right by you.
We will never forget everything you sacrificed for us.
We know you are watching over us.
We we will keep going and make you proud.
We love you, forever.
Fifty-two years on this Earth. You've been in our constant thoughts since Monday, and you came to me during a dream last night. I felt your heart, your presence, your spirit—you were so peaceful. It felt safe knowing you were watching over us, and comforting to know that you were at complete peace.
My dearest brother, our hearts are so broken, and we will do our best not to dwell on the sadness or the pain. Instead, we will remember your extraordinary kindness (sometimes with a splash of frustration), your sensitivity, your intellect, your love, your loyalty, and your determination to always do the right thing, even when it required missteps along the way.
We will remember you as a brother, a dad, a son, a friend, an uncle, a life partner, a cousin, and a co-worker. We will remember you as someone we could always count on. We will remember your gift for storytelling—how you could eloquently recite poetry, narrate a story, or share facts about the universe, mathematics, science, or history. We'll remember your incredible memory—how you could recall a random fact from 1982 on a Tuesday evening while the sun was setting. Or how you could order a cheeseburger in Old English, or make us laugh with your clever one-liners, your silly faces, or your unique way of teaching each and every person how to be good and kind. We will remember your ability to bring calm to chaotic situations just by your presence. You were, and forever will be, a special soul. Everyone who met you could tell from the first minute that you had a pure, kind soul with good intentions.
Your time on this Earth was too short. I cannot believe it ended this way, but I know that you are at peace, watching over your children and loved ones.
Your children are simply amazing, and you did an incredible job. This is evident in their kindness, their determination, and their dedication to honoring you. I will be there for them.
Now, you'll have your pickup truck by the big oak tree,
Driving the old dirt roads as far as you can see.
Around the bend, we'll see you there,
Carried by God on a wing and a prayer.
Mark, the hole you left is so big, but you were here for a reason.
We cannot fully understand, but we trust this season.
You sought a better life, but in the end, you left us too soon.
Your presence is felt right here in this room.
You will forever be in our hearts and in our memories.
Now you are with Mom and Dad, buried under that big oak tree.
Fly high, my dear brother, with the angels above.
Now you have the love you've always dreamed of.
We'll miss you forever, my dear brother. I love you, forever.
Angie

Mark was a beloved father, son, educator, uncle, co-worker, and friend, leaving behind his three children: Ashton, Nicholas, and Noah. As they navigate life without their loving dad, they need our support more than ever.
Mark was deeply loved by many—family, friends, church, and community groups are all devastated from this tragic loss.
The greatest impact of this tragedy is on Mark's children who were living with Mark at the time, and are now struggling to keep their heads and hearts above water.
